TURNER SIMPLICITY 4 1/2hp Hit Miss Gas Farm Engine Motor Steam Tractor Original

This is an original 4 1/2hp Simplicity hit and miss flywheel type engine built by Turner Manufacturing in Port Washington, Wisconsin. It has the "Simplicity" logo in raised letters on both sides of the hopper. The head, mixer, and rocker arm are loosely assembled as that is the way I had to acquire it. Engine is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than the head and a braze on a governor weight both of which I think could be blended or disguised pretty easily.

The piston moves as it should and the bore looks to be in very nice shape. This seems to be a very low hour engine as the gear teeth and bearings all seem like new. It even appears to have some original green paint in some of the nooks and crannies. It looks to be sitting on original skids.

The bottom of the original gas tank needs some attention as can be seen. It is missing a Webster magneto and ignitor. Here's a good opportunity for a larger Simplicity engine that just doesn't come to market very often. This should be a very straightforward project.
